DVD AUTHORING:
A BRIEF EXPLANATION OF THE PROCESS
Step One - Choose a level of encoding. The two choices for DVD are Customized High-End Authoring or Generic Authoring. Please see the explanations below for the differences
Step Two - Record video, pictures, etc, and edit if necessary
Step Three - Create a master DVD disc. This is charged apart from the duplications
Step Four - Duplication (if desired)
Step Five - Packaging and/or labeling

When combining multiple tapes to one DVD, there will be a joining fee of $5 for each join. For instance, if you have 60 minutes of material to convert, but it is divided into three 20 minute segments from 3 sources, there will be 2 join fees for a total of $10 added. This fee is waived if there are editing charges being applied.
An hourly editing charge will be applied if the video is edited in any way, i.e adding titles, color correction, cutting of scenes, etc.
All DVD authoring done for projects that were made at Athens Video will automatically fall under the Customized High-End Authoring prices
There will be no charge for creating a Master Disc for DVDs created create elsewhere. However, we will not duplicate copyrighted material without the written consent of the copyright owner. There are educational purpose exceptions. Please call us if you feel these apply.

STEP TWO: SOURCE MATERIAL
We can convert almost any source material to DVD. Please refer to our format conversions chart for further information.
STEP THREE: CREATE A MASTER DISC
A Master Disc will be created. Duplications will be made from the Master Disc.
For projects created by Athens Video, the Master Disc will be archived for future use. For other jobs, the customer will take the Master Disc.
In some instances, a Master Disc can be made that can be added to at later times. Please ask if you think this option is for you.
