FORMATS WE CURRENTLY WORK WITH

We can convert material between any of these formats. For instance, if you need a Powerpoint presentation converted to a Hi8 tape, we can do that. There are some limitations when converting to PAL formats though. See our Limitations section for more information.

Due to popular demand, we CAN do Powerpoint (.ppt) to DVD conversions. Get a looping DVD for trade shows or a simple automatic play-all for family albums. Feel free to email us your presentation and we'll send you the DVD (or email you a digital file if you prefer).

DVD TRANSFERS

LIMITATIONS

•We do not do 8mm film transfers. However, if your project calls for the inclusion of 8mm or 16mm film, we can convert it, as long as it is part of a larger project.

•We can record or transfer to PAL VHS only. We cannot record or transfer anything to digital PAL formats, such as mini-DV.. We cannot convert PAL DVD's to NTSC DVD's, without converting the signal to analog first.

•We cannot convert anything that is subject to copyright restrictions. This includes any PAL tapes purchased overseas, or items that are currently out of print or unavailable in certain formats.

•We cannot convert anything to film.

Standard Videocassette for VCR's

Small videocassette for camcorders that require adapters to play in standard VCR's
S-VHS
Professional analog video format. Cannot be played in standard VCR's
Hi8/Digital 8
Small videocassette for camcorders. Cannot be played in any standard VCR's. No adapters available. Size is similar to audio cassette. Hi8 is an analog signal, while Digital 8 is, well, digital.
Mini-DV
Digital video. recorded on very small cassettes. Used in consumer and professional cameras. Considered the standard as of right now.
DVCAM
Sony proprietary recording format. DV signal recorded at faster speed. High quality.
PAL
Recording format used in most countries, except the U.S..
NTSC
Format used in United States
8mm/16mm
Film. Projector required to play.
CD
Can be used for audio or video files, but cannot store as much information as DVD's. Commonly used for VCD formats
VCD
Highly compressed video format meant for CD's. Can usually be played back on computers or DVD players
DVD
Common medium for video. Can also be used to store data like a CD. Can usually be played on computers or DVD players.
MPG 1
Most universally compatible file format for computer playback. 1 hour of video in this compressed format can fit on one CD
MPG 2
File format used in DVD authoring. Not as compressed as MPG 1, nor as compatible as MPG 1 with other computers
AVI
Least compressed of all formats. Used primarily in video editing stage. Not recommended for general use.
